Abstract:

The aim of the Helmholtz International Research School for Teratronics is to produce a new generation of researchers and developers who have expertise in the entire electromagnetic spectrum, and face the challenges of future electronic-photonic systems with terahertz signals and terabit data streams.

The graduate school is a response to the increasing need in academia and industry to cross-disciplinary experts in the field of high frequency electromagnetic waves and technologies for applications in the fields of medical devices, sensors and security systems, communications, and also power engineering.

The area, which addresses the Graduate School of Teratronik goes far beyond the currently discussed terahertz technologies. Teratronik includes knowledge of electronics, photonics and materials science with the aim at the highest frequencies and bit rates theoretically and technologically leading to proper functionality.
