Authentication of products has become a great concern as companies fabricate their product in overseas countries to reduce costs. In this project, a low-cost authentication scheme is to be explored. The intrinsic characteristics of products reveal a signature like a fingerprint or eye iris. This signature can be extracted using image processing to be used for authentication.

 

Tasks

  • Literature search on authentication and image processing algorithms

  • Implementation of authentication methodology based on image processing

  • Evaluation of methodology


 

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of programming (Python or MATLAB knowledge is plus)

  • Understanding of image processing (experience on image processing is plus)

  • Motivation to learn and work

  • Good communication skills in English

 

What you learn

  • Experience on Python (Python is the 3rd in-demand language in 2017*)

  • Image processing algorithms and python libraries used in industry

  • Interdisciplinary topics (programming, image processing, security and forensics)
