Doctorate Researcher (f/m) in the area of “Hardware Security in Emerging Technologies”
This project investigates hardware security challenges and opportunities using emerging technologies and computing paradigms, such as emerging non-volatile memories, near threshold computing, and so on. The field of hardware security has been gaining lots of attention and securing the hardware subsystem, through the entire life cycle, including design, verification, manufacturing, test, and in-field operation, is of decisive importance. The issue is further complicated by the introduction of emerging technologies and paradigms which are integrated in the System on Chip (SoC). The goal of this research project is to investigate hardware security challenges and opportunities arising from the use and integration of emerging technologies and paradigms in the hardware design cycle. This PhD research will be done in collaboration with an international team all around Europe.
The possibility to pursue a Doctorate (PhD) degree exists.
The applicants should hold a university degree (Diploma or Masters) in the areas of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and should also have strong English communication skills (both Oral and Writing). Suitable candidates must posses a strong willingness for research exploration, independence, self-learning, creativity, teamwork and communication skills as well as the willingness in the preparation of research proposals. Experience and solid background in VLSI circuit design, RTL design, advanced computer architecture, and simulation (RTL and/or cycle-accurate) is necessary.
The remuneration occurs on the basis of the wage agreement of the civil service in TV-L, E 13.
